vacuum casting models

Low volume plastic part manufacturing

Triple-c china rapid prototype center provides low volume plastic manufacturing with the vacuum casting technique.

we make a silicone mould and in this mould we pour a Poly urethane resin

A renowned process to create plastic prototype is vacuum casting .  The original model laying in a box  is poured with a liquid polyurethane casting. By this method, a flexible silicone form, the soft mould has been created.

In a mixer, the final components are thoroughly mixed and then given as a reaction mass in the vacuum chamber in the silicone forms of reproduction. The curing takes place in the form itself and the vacuum is used to prevent the formation from air bubbles.

It is a very quick and inexpensive copying method for functional prototypes and is preferred for the production of molded polyurethane for example in the electronics and maritime industry.

Vacuum casting or polyurethane casting is a popular rapid prototyping technology in China

Vacuum casting or polyurethane casting is a popular and cost effective  rapid prototyping technology in China, usually to create more than one duplicates of your design idea. It is a cheaper technology than steel or hardened moulds and thus an excellent technology to create marketing and models to verify function and or ease of assembly

From an original prototype made by CNC machining or milling, SLS , SLA or FDM a mould will be build using this original a box ( sometimes of Transparent PMMA perspex plates or even Lego bricks and silicone).

This silicone will be poured around the original in this box.
Later the silicone mould  will be cut in half , the original will be taken out and a mould with one empty cavity has been made. Important is to create a the right parting line, that is where the two molds will be come together.

This silicone mould can now be used to create new prototypes by pouring a PU resin in the mould. 20 to 25 duplicates can by made with one mould.
